Carlie was roaming around the beach of Assateague Island. She had a camera in her hands. one of those old fashion flash cameras... not one of those digital cameras.. oh no.. she loved the oldies. The camera in her hand was one of the cameras her Grandmother had. She was searching for something. Beautiful or interesting things she could use as background pictures for the yearbook. Sure school was few months away, since they just got out of school. but She wanted to get a head start.
She loved the beaches of Assateague, mostly because it wasn't as crowded as Ocean City was during tourist season. and another reason being the wildlife.

Arista was utterly lost. There was no denying it. She had managed to wander a little further than she had originally planned and had no idea where she was. As she meandered around the place she saw a girl. "Excuse me." she said in a strong British accent. "Could you tell me where I am, please? Kinda lost." she admitted making a face. Arista wanted to learn where she was but she was useless with directions.

Carlie smiled gently when she heard someone talking.She spun around to face the person who was talking to her. "Oh Hello. You are on Assateague Island. " she grinned and said "land of the wild ponies as it were." then she said "it's understandable. people get lost alot around here. so... anything i can help you with?" Carlie was willing to help people out. She wasn't the type to poke fun at the tourists like some of her so called friends. "i know alot about this area since i been visiting the area every weekend for who knows many years"

"Assateague...greeeat." Arista looked around as the girl spoke. "Which way to um...Ocean City or town or whatever. Sorry I don't mean to sound ignorant. I've just moved here. Well actually I bet that's obvious." She laughed before offereing her hand. "I'm Arista Tempest." she introdced herself finally.

Carlie smiled and said "Ocean City is across the bay. you can see it from here." she pointed in the direction of Ocean City. " Nice to meet you, Arista . I am Carlie Hale." She shook her hand kindly. then she said "well to get to Ocean City from here....you go on the bridge that you came from and follow the signs. you will see a big sign with a Marlin that says 'Ocean City Welcomes You'." then she said "oh cool. so are you going to go to the local high school in the fall? or you just staying for the summer?"
